Project description
3DReid developed the new interior brand for Village Hotel Club; the first of the new brand concept in the UK which provides flexibility for work, play and dining.
The 153 room Portsmouth Hotel located in the Lakeside North Business Park, includes casual dining spaces and restaurant, Village Business Club hub, conference facilities, leisure club with 20m pool, gym and fitness studios.
3DReid’s interiors team worked closely with the client to maximise the internal layout. The interiors offer all the style, comfort and facilities expected in a Village Hotel on a more compact footprint.
The guestrooms are comfortable, informal and vibrant spaces in a neat 14sqm of floor space. By using four very distinct colour-ways throughout, the vibrant wall coverings provide a focal point with pops of colour on doors, bedside units and subtle colour detailing on edgings to beds, desks and mirror surrounds.
A key element in the guestrooms is the specially designed St Goban Privilite glass wall, which becomes opaque or clear at the touch of a button, allowing natural light from the bathroom window to suffuse the interior of the bedroom.
Much of the furniture was hot off the press from the Milan Furniture Show and the client was keen to use as many pieces as possible throughout the Hotel.
One key driver in the design was the new Business Club. The interiors team created a new style corporate events space which moves away from the outdated concept of corporate needs, to a technologically state of the art, flexible hub space that offers bookable rooms and workspace.
The first of these next generation hotels launched in Portsmouth and 3DReid is designing and delivering the Village Hotel concept in further locations including Bristol, Basingstoke and Eastleigh.
