3DReid was appointed as part of Bristow’s agreement to take over the UK’s helicopter search and rescue operations, replacing the RAF/Royal Navy service.
The project was to design operational hangars for 22 Sikorsky S-92 and AgustaWestland 189 helicopters operating from 10 locations around the UK, including Humberside, Sumburgh, Inverness, Newquay and Manston. In addition to facilitating helicopter maintenance, the bases are designed to enable rapid and efficient mobilisation of rescue staff and equipment.
Accommodation includes a gym, meeting/ conference facilities, a ground floor lounge/ bar and a rooftop bar/restaurant which will be open to the public.
