Project description

Elliott House is a prime student accommodation redevelopment located on Hillside Crescent overlooking the Royal Terrace Gardens to the north east of Edinburgh’s city centre. Within the 53,162 sq ft development, 138 studios have been created, 134 within the main seven storey building and four duplex apartments in a single storey mews to the rear of the building with a communal courtyard area.

3DReid provided full architectural and interior design services to transform the former seven storey office development within the Edinburgh New Town Conservation Area into prime studio apartments. This project involved a full internal refurbishment and the application of new exterior cladding replacing the existing concrete cladding with natural stone on the main front elevations, and bronze coloured rain screen details.

The interiors team achieved a high-level of quality, specification and finishes throughout all138 en suite studios providing a refined student living experience arranged over the lower ground, ground and five upper floors along with common room, study rooms and launderette.

Innovations & added value

Worked within confines of an existing in-situ concrete frame and difficult site to deliver a building that meets the client’s space standards and interior design requirements whilst providing a clear local identity and positive addition to the New Town Conservation Area.
