Projects / 36 North Castle Street, Edinburgh

Client
Bellair Scotland Ltd
Project description
The refurbishment of 36 North Castle Street incorporates our own Edinburgh studio as well as transforming the interiors for our neighbouring companies Prydis and Sutherland Independent Ltd.
The aim was to create a premium hospitality led workplace in this Georgian Townhouse and create a home from home for the people using the building. In our early meetings with the client it became clear that their aspirations were to undertake a sympathetic refurbishment to the townhouse and respect its Georgian heritage. We wanted to provide a design that had traditional elements with a contemporary twist and the tonality of Scandinavian design with muted colours throughout.
Innovations & added value
3DReid commissioned custom designed feature lighting with Chantelle Lighting to create statement pieces in the entrance hallway and stairwell. A concealed LED feature light was added to the lift lobbies throughout the building to create a dramatic lighting effect. Hard wearing LVT timber effect flooring by Therdex added to the Scandi feel and Traditional shaker style kitchens were specified, but in contemporary colours with black ironmonery and solid surface worktops. All toilets were fully refurbished with timber dado panelling, new sanitaryware, black finish brassware and simple white metro brick tiles from Dune. In summary we have created a contemporary workplace which combines the style of a boutique hotel with the comfort of your own home.
