Approach

We do not have a house style: we believe that the best architecture is responsive to the needs of its users, to its context, and is mindful of its legacy. Sometimes this calls for a bold solution: a number of our completed projects have emerged as landmarks in their own right.

We aim to bring value to all of our projects though clear analysis and well executed design. We approach every project with the same ambition, whether it is an office refurbishment or a new airport terminal. Every building we design must work beautifully.

Our buildings must positively affect their users and the wider public. We design with consideration for the environment and our legacy to future generations. We embrace the tenets of adaptation and adaptability, seeking to use existing stock before starting afresh by converting and repositioning buildings or designing new buildings that can be changed over time to meet new demands.

We believe that the best buildings and places come from a culture of open discussion and collaboration with our clients, colleagues and fellow consultants. We hold frequent design workshops, with clients and consultants working together to progress design ideas: we believe this offers the quickest and most reliable route to good design.

We aim to understand and adopt the newest and best techniques in building modelling. We are proficient in the use of BIM and are active in promoting its benefits to clients and the wider construction industry.
