Bigger and better work experience in our fourth year partnering with Futures for All. Collaboration was key and this year’s two-day work experience, for 67 students, was a whistle-stop tour of our sector with lots of design tasks to keep the experience engaging and creative.
In total 13 internal and external specialists shared their knowledge and experience with the students. We know that at 17 you may not know the breadth of career opportunities in this sector, so we shared the platform with:
We delivered a series of talks and workshops touching on the subjects of; masterplanning, concept design, interior design, life in an architecture firm and how to get into the industry.
We set group and individual design tasks each day, so the students had the opportunity to practise the skills in design, collaboration, and communication needed in this industry. This also allowed them to begin building a portfolio and knowledge base to support future applications for work or college.
By partnering with the charity Futures for All, we helped young people access real-world experiences, and discover new opportunities. “Together, we can level the playing field and move towards a fairer future.”
