Our Glentana Mill drawings have been selected for the 199th RSA Annual Exhibition.
3DReid submitted a triptych of prints consisting of drawings from a design exercise with Clackmannanshire Council. We were tasked with setting out design guidelines for a mix of starter homes and elderly living on the site of the Glentana Mill in Alva. We developed a series of layouts and possibilities for the site, referencing the values and aspirations of a pathfinder report we had previously produced. The result was a set of principles that promote intergenerational living, create safe walkable streets, and establish a clear hierarchy between public and private spaces. Our former colleague Andreea Colbeanu, then illustrated these ideas beautifully through a series of hand drawings.
The exhibition showcases a diverse range of contemporary art and architecture from our Royal Scottish Academicians, plus artists and architects, carefully selected from online open submissions.
The Open Architecture element aims to highlight some of the most interesting current architectural practices across Scotland and beyond.
