Plans for 100m Angus resort revealed Banner

Plans for a £100 million golf resort, hotel and spa with a Championship Golf Course have been submitted on behalf of the Forbes of Kingennie Country resort near Broughty Ferry, Angus.

The Angus is heralded as the first five-star resort for the Dundee region and will deliver 175 bedrooms, a rooftop sky bar and 1,900sq/m leisure facility.

The development, set within 300 acres at Shank of Omachie the 3DReid designed resort, includes a major international 5-star Hotel with Spa and Lodges. The resort will anchor around a Darren Clarke Championship Golf Course with a clubhouse and golf academy together with 160 houses (including affordable housing) and 10-holiday lodges with expansive views across the Tay Estuary.

The project represents one of the most significant hospitality investments in Scotland in recent years. Once it’s operational, it could mean a substantial economic boom to the local economy, generating more than 300 full and part-time jobs, with further additional employment positions during the construction and development phase.

“This is a huge project and a labour of love for me, my family and our planning team who have worked tirelessly to ensure we have a resort that the people of Angus can be proud of for generations to come. ”
Mike Forbes,
Forbes of Kingennie Owner

Forbes of Kingennie owner Mike Forbes commented: “We are committed to working collaboratively with the planning team at Angus Council to meet all the planning requirements to allow us to begin construction on this transformational development in 2022 so that it can be delivered by Morrison Construction.”

It is expected that Angus Council will make a decision on the plans in early 2022, with completion expected in 2024.
